Davie Motors Holden was founded in 1953, when Ron Davie bought the company from Reg Tappenden during a game of golf! Both men accepted the terms of the agreement on the strength of their word and a handshake.
The company was originally based in Otahuhu and was franchised to sell Vauxhall and Holden cars and Bedford trucks.
By the mid 70’s, Ron’s sons, Laurence and Kerry, had taken over the business as the South Auckland Holden franchise.
Davie Motors has expanded to a staff of more than 90 people, now based in Cavendish Drive, Manukau City with a satellite service and parts operation in Ron Driver Place, East Tamaki. Today, these people are the heart of the company, which combines the latest in automotive systems and service technology with the integrity of a family business.
